General Catalog
The UCSF General Catalog is increasingly recognized as a key primary resource for academic and course offerings, course schedule guides for prospective students, fellowship and residency guidelines, and general information for the UCSF community. Each fall, academic programs and campus support offices can review and update their catalog pages for the upcoming edition. Your commitment to maintaining accurate information in the catalog is vital to ensuring it remains a reliable resource for all stakeholders.
Please review the information below and in the navigation block to the left to understand the annual review timeline, your responsibilities, and how to make edits directly in the catalog.
Important 2025-26 Dates & Deadlines
- Pages available for review/editing: Noon on December 10, 2024.
- Deadline to move pages to the workflow: February 11, 2025 (new deadline).
- Final review by catalog administrators: Late-February 2025 (date TBD).
- Publication date: April 28, 2025.
Adhering to these deadlines is crucial, as other campus offices, such as Financial Aid, depend on a complete and accurate catalog to authorize VA aid eligibility for students.
Program Responsibilities
Page editors are responsible for ensuring their pages are accurate and up to date. The review and editing window opens late each fall quarter and closes in the winter quarter. After this period, catalog administrators will conduct a final review before the catalog is released to the vendor for publishing.
Before finalizing your catalog page, review your program’s courses (if applicable) to ensure that all course content and instructor details are correct. Note that course information is imported to the catalog from the Senate Course Review System (SCRS), and all course updates must be made in that system.
Courses
Departments are ultimately responsible for verifying that their catalog pages and course listings remain accurate throughout the academic year. Ensure that any necessary course changes (e.g., title, units, description) are submitted through Senate Course Review System, as course edits cannot be made directly in the catalog.
To ensure courses are updated in time for the catalog’s publication, adhere to the course form deadlines. Only courses approved by the Committee on Courses of Instruction (COCOI) and finalized via SCRS by the publication deadline will appear in the catalog’s course study grid.
