Housing Services offers on-campus housing and related services to UCSF students, post-docs, residents, clinical fellows, and faculty. Provided they are enrolled in a UCSF degree program, students may live for up to two years in campus rental accommodations. Unit types for singles include shared double rooms, single rooms, efficiencies, studios, and Junior 1-Bedrooms. Unit types for couples and families include studios, 1-Bedrooms, 2-Bedrooms and 3-Bedrooms. UCSF campus housing properties are located at or near the Mission Bay and Parnassus campuses.
Due to the high demand for limited space, Housing Services holds a lottery for available units. Lotteries begin on April 1 for June move-in and on April 15 for July/August/September move-in. Please be sure your housing application, along with supporting documentation, has been submitted in order to participate in the lottery process. The housing application is free and online.
Housing Services' Off-Campus Rentals Web site also provides a free referral service for off-campus rental properties throughout San Francisco. If you choose to live off campus, you may browse ads from private landlords or potential roommates and view useful information about the city's neighborhoods and transportation systems.
Apartment hunters and short-term campus visitors may view a wide selection of hoteliers near campus locations. If you need a temporary place to stay until you are settled in San Francisco, please review these short-term housing options.
