Housing Services

Housing Services offers on-campus housing and related services to UCSF students, post-docs, residents, clinical fellows, faculty, and staff.   Provided they are enrolled in a UCSF degree program, students may live for up to five years in campus housing.  Unit types for singles include shared double rooms, single rooms, efficiencies, studios, and Junior 1-Bedrooms.  Unit types for couples and families include studios, 1-Bedrooms, 2-Bedrooms and 3-Bedrooms. UCSF campus housing properties are located at or near the Mission Bay, Parnassus, and Mount Zion campuses. All locations have easy access to the free UCSF Shuttle system.

Housing Services has a rolling application process and makes housing offers throughout the year. For peak July/August/September move-in, Housing Services makes assignments and housing offers beginning in early April.  Please be sure your housing application, along with supporting documentation, is completed by the end of March for priority consideration. Although you may apply at any time throughout the year, you will have the maximum number of chances to get your first choice of housing if you apply by the priority deadline. The housing application is free and online.  Visit the UCSF Housing website for more information on the different communities available.

Housing Services' Off-Campus Rentals Web site also provides a free referral service for off-campus rental properties throughout San Francisco.  If you choose to live off campus, you may browse ads from private landlords or potential roommates.

Apartment hunters and short-term campus visitors may view a wide selection of hoteliers near campus locations. If you need a temporary place to stay until you are settled in San Francisco, please review these short-term housing options.
